The Young Asian American League is an educational non-profit organization based in the DFW and was established in 2022.

Vision

Our vision is to create a confident, connected Asian American Society with a unified voice that stands as a prominent political voice and maintains hope and opportunities for the next generations.

Mission

We seek to gather people and establish a network of passionate Young Asian Americans students to nurture into socially engaged leaders and to promote democracy within the league.

Among these passionate leaders will be a task force that manages members, plans events, and —most importantly— works for the members and their collective values.

Projects

Korean Hanbok

Cultural Awareness Project

This pictured notecard displays parts of Korea's unique culture. Hanbok is a Korean traditional attire. Informational notecards and hanbok bookmarks were handed out at public forums such as the Grapevine Harvest Hall and the Dallas Police Appreciation and Scholarship Luncheon. Through this project, we are raising awareness in our communities around distinct Korean culture.

YAAL's focus around culture and identity is achieved by recognizing the diversity of Asian Americans. The organization's network is made to appreciate diverse cultures of Asian Americans, where members can be proud of their respective heritage.

AAPI Hate Crimes Forum

June 9, 2022

With the surge in Asian hate crimes, the US Department of Justice facilitated the AAPI Hate Crimes Forum. Members of the FBI, ADL, the US Attorney's Office, and the local police departments discussed what makes a hate crime a hate crime and emphasized the importance of reporting incidents.

A hate crime is a crime motivated with identified bias or prejudice.

Very few crimes have been officially labelled as hate crimes in the past year, but ADL has its own reports that tells a different story. ADL has hundreds of hate crime reports.
